I was going to write David Gemmell an email to tell him how much his writing influences my outlook on life, that we as average humans can rise above all the shit and make the world a better place. That we can give a little of our time to help another, and that morals that are often overlooked still do exist and even the littlest glimmer of hope

You know, I never noticed it before, but your writing *does* remind me of his work a lot.

I hope you take that as a compliment - it's intended as one. I've only read a handful of Rigante books plus his standalone novel "Echoes Of The Great Song", but I've loved them all so far...

wow thanks that is a huge compliment! I haven't read Echoes of the Great song, will get there eventually but I've gone back to the beginning and started with Legend.
