Chapter 6: Encounter.
It was another boring day, when Sho was too focusing on his task and totally forgot that he also had a boyfriend and that boyfriend now was staring at him insistently like a lost puppy. The sound of the air-conditioner was the only sound in the shop, since it was nearly closed time and there was no customer there. Sho wrote something hastily on the paper, stopped for a minute to think and then continue with his furrowed brows and concentrating eyes.
Aiba started to play his favorite game: staring at Sho’s face and each time he would figure out some interesting details on his lover’s face, like the time he saw a small scar at the end of Sho’s eyebrow. He’d got over-excited and Sho had to calm him down by a smack on his head.
Time passed, and Aiba had been staring at Sho for nearly an hour. He finally admitted that he had known everything on Sho’s face so he gave up on his game. He sighed as he leaned back to the wall, counting the tickle of the clock, waiting for the work time to finally over and Sho would stop all his work and pay attention to him.
As his eyes darted to the front door, he realized a familiar car which was parked on the opposite pavement, the same black and luxurious car he had seen a week ago. He stood up abruptly, causing Sho to raise his head up and look at him questioningly, but Aiba had temporarily forgot Sho’s presence when he saw a small firgure stepping out of the car. He wasn’t so surprise to find out that it was also Nino, though he had no idea why the man was here at this time, without Ohno beside, looking pale and a little unstable, and even angry. Beside him standing two guardians who were wearing black suit and black spectacles. Aiba blinked. It was Nino, he could see him clearly from here. He had his usual frown on his face, but his smile was barely there and he looked weak. What had happened since the last time they met? Aiba wondered and without any word, he ran out of the shop and crossed the road, approaching Nino with a big grin on his face.
If Aiba had remembered better, he would consider again if this was the person he wanted to meet. If Aiba had remembered Nino’s cold look the last time he saw him at the same state, Aiba would think again if it was a great idea to approach the man like this.
But Aiba didn’t remember at all.
So he reached Nino quickly and he waved enthusiastically at the other man as he called loudly.
“Nino-chan!!!”
Nino turned around immediately, his sharp eyes fall on Aiba and he squinted a little, his lips pursed into a thin line. His brows deepened the more Aiba come closer to him, and he showed no recognition even when Aiba reached him and patted his shoulder in a friendly manner.
Aiba had never expected Nino to wipe his hand away harshly like he was kind of a disease, so he was taken back with a shocked look on his face. And before Aiba could understand what was going on, he felt two strong arms catching his own and nearly lifted him up on the air.
It was Nino’s wave that the two burly man dropped him down on the ground and stared at him threateningly. Nino’s gaze on him was questioning, but Aiba could see a hint of a smirk on his face. It was totally different with the one he usually saw on the latter’s face. This one was distant, cold and just so strange. Aiba suddenly shivered. He could see Sho rushing out of their shop and running toward him from the corner of his eyes, but Nino’s eyes had been holding his and he felt like frozen.
“Who are you?” Nino finally said, his voice sharp and threatening. He looked extremely pale, with sweat falling from his face and he was slightly trembling. Aiba wanted to ask, how are you, but his words were locked inside his throat that he just stared at Nino in bewilderment.
“I’m asking you,” Nino’s voice turned even colder as the younger man took a step closer. His eyes were dark and seemed lack of vitality. “Who the hell are you?”
“Hey!! What are you doing there?? I’ll call the police!!!” Sho was rushing toward them, an astonish look plastered on his face as he stuffed out his phone and tried to dial the number.
Nino glanced at Sho for a second before motion to his guards. They both nodded and opened the door for him, and before he entered the black car he turned around and gave Aiba another threatening look. Aiba couldn’t believe that Nino had such scary eyes.
The door slammed violently and the two guards also entered after Nino. Then the car started to run along the pavement and increased its speed, until the only thing Aiba could see was the back light of the car. Sho reached Aiba with fear and worry on his face, and when he finally confirmed that Aiba was safe, he pulled him into a tight hug.
“God, you scared me, Masaki… I thought they were going to hit you or something…”
“Do you see that man?” Aiba asked, his voice was still hoarse after the incident.
“I can’t see him, it was dark here.” Sho frowned “And why did you approach them anyway? They looked scary!”
“But… it’s Nino…” Aiba mumbled to himself in disbelief “Ah!”
The idea popped up in Aiba’s mind and he couldn’t understand why didn’t he get it before. And with a confused Sho, Aiba dragged him back to their shop.
“Let’s go Sho-chan! We’re going to Ohchan’s house!!”
