We were actually all really disappointed by old Dessie. His graduation address basically could be summed up like this:
You are all beautiful flowers in the garden of life. Go forth and thrive.

I mean, sure, he was talking to a girls' high school graduating class (his granddaughter was in the class, which is how they got him to come...), but it's also one of the top girls' schools in the country, and those girls are pretty sophisticated. The "beautiful vlowers" comments would have been appropriate for them when they graduated elementary school. It was just terribly uninspiring and pat.
Hence the comments made about him being "baked, retarded and/or wicked old."

Maybe we were just expecting too much....
