Book List, 2011

Key:
Hyperlinked: top rated -- books that I loved for various reasons. They could be great literature, or they could be total brain crack. But I loved them.
Bold: second rated. Worth a read -- very good, but not AMAZING.
Plain: third rated. Not a waste of time, by any means, but not something I would recommend on a wide basis.
Undelined: don't bother

I HIGHLY recommend Joe Sacco's Palestine (Fantagraphics Books, 2001 ISBN 1-56097-432-X[13]). Footnotes is difficult, but Palestine really helped define for me what is happening in the region (or, at least, what was happening 10 (gulp!) years ago).

Was Crank really banned? I know certain schools gave her problems for it. Impulse is her best IMO and the companion book Perfect that just came out - even better. She gets better with each book (Burned aside).

I read the first Gone book and hope to get to the rest one of these days. Did you like Forest of Hands and Teeth? My list is on Facebook too - I was wondering when you'd post yours.

Most excellent.
