The vents are hot, cramped and dusty. As they crawl along, trying to be as quiet as possible, Jack can feel his breath coming fast, his heart pounding. He tries to focus on the sight of Kim's feet ahead of him, not the nearness of the walls, but one of the muscles in his arm is starting to twitch, and he can feel the panic threatening to boil over. He sure as hell hopes that Doyle finds a good exit, and fast.

"Any good exit points up there?" Jack asks, softly, hoping his voice isn't shaking.

Doyle considered for a moment, and shook his head. This was highly unpleasant but what could be done?

"Not right there, but twenty feet to the left will drop us off in that first floor women's restroom that no one uses."

Kim can hear her dad breathing behind her and Mike's moving a little faster than she can go, and she's sure that the terrorists can hear when their hands touch the metal or their shoes accidentally slip and squeak against the floor. Twenty more feet and they'll be able to stand and she won't feel like the tiny space is getting even tighter. Her concentration's gone and she feels sweat dripping down her face. Mike turns a corner and she follows, able to make out a patch ahead of him that's a little brighter.

"Do we need to be invisible again?" She's still not sure what the plan is after 'get inside'.

Jack doesn't reply until he can see that patch of light, and he has to force himself not to rush toward it. Well, rush as much as he can, considering he has so little room to move as he's pushing a bag weighed down with extra weapons and there are two people in front of him.

"We will, to get through the hall and up the stairs," he says, trying to focus on that light and not freak out when open space is so close ( ... )
