You may think I'm a sick person for wanting to see this but this movie looks incredible and appears to be everything I enjoy about film in one sitting. ( SO I HOPE.)
Haha I think it looks sick but awesome. :P It almost reminds me of Clockwork Orange in a way... especially how they're both wearing white. I'm not sure if it's coming to a theater in St. Pete, but if it is, I think I'll go and see it for sure.
But This movie was made in 97 by Haneke and it was Austrian, he is remaking it and bringing it to the states after such a big streak in popularity of his Avant-garde thrillers. I love Hitchcock. A lot. The problem with "Rope" however is that it strays away from the real and brings little to no terror, instead it's just the characters going through one fit of the crazies after another. Plus in this case Funny Games is sequentially AMAZING. The shot by shot aspect is beautiful. Haneke is amazing, he does give a lot of acknowledgement to Hitchcockian film logic, but he's much more interwoven into the critical theories of film (Deleuze).
