A lesson to everyone still debating

I am in the process of packing up my apartment. Today was by far the hardest day for me as I went through a lot of stuff I had been saving for the last few years. It was really emotional wrenching for me. I cried all over again reading encouraging letters from Kristen and thank yous from Deb. They all still mean so much to me. Interesting post....

My mom often says that there are days she regrets starting debate. SHe can mention a few specific moments of seeing pure anguish in her debaters (and children) that made her question the worth of the activity. However, I always tell her that I would rather have a crushing end to a career than no career at all. I always thought debate was the best thing that ever happened to me....then I met Drew :) but debate is (and always will be) a close second!

I agree Kristen. It was all worth it for me too. Plus I got Paul as kinda a package deal so I don't even have to rank order them ;) I can't imagine my life without the people I met in debate. I also still love debate. I just wish I would have gotten over the fear of caring more and really just enjoyed every moment of it. It seems like those four years went by blisteringly fast some days.
