Maybe you could find a basement further from 'home'? At least you wouldn't be surrounded by all that. That's what I did. But it was a friend's mother's couch.

I've been to Rhode Island (I was born, raised, and currently live in MA) -- I feel your pain. It's amazing how our smallest state manages to cram the very worst aspects of New England into such a tiny area. Other than the 'bug' off 95 in Providence and possibly Block Island, it is an relieved, though scenic, hellhole.

Let me know next time you're in the Boston area, we can meet up and bitch about RI and FBoFW in person.

Hey. I live in MA. Providence is just down the road. New England does suck. I agree heartily...and housing is just tooooooo fricken expensive.
