One day I'll stop being a tease. Today will not be it.

Charles struggled to pick up one of the many boxes.

"Use your knees, Charles," Erik teased as he walked by with a large box in his arms. Charles glanced up and grinned.

"Thank you, Erik," he huffed and pushed his dampening bangs from his forehead. "I think I need a break. I'm not used to all this heavy lifting."

Erik set the box down and looked to his friend.

"Weren't you the one who thought we could finish this by the end of the day? In time for an early dinner, if I remember correctly," Erik grinned.

Charles breathed a tired laughed.

"I forgot how much stuff Raven and I had dumped into these rooms," Charles admitted then took a deep breath. "You're right though. We have to get these rooms ready for the boys."

"I'm sure they can live sleeping in a mess for a while. They are boys." Erik looked at the boxes they had left to move. It was the last room and the summer sun had gone down hours ago. "What are in these boxes anyway?"

Charles stood and picked up his box with a great huff.

"Trinkets, I'm sure. Things Raven and I collected over the years." Charles walked into the hall and disappeared to add to the pile they were making in an empty room at the end of the hall.

Erik nudged his box open with his foot. Photos peaked out and beckoned his attention. He pulled a few and laughed. With careful fingers he rifled through the black and white photographs.

"I think if we-" Charles stopped when he saw Erik grinning at the photos he found.

"What in the world are you wearing?" Erik teased and held up one.

Charles looked at it and smiled.

"Christmas party. I was an elf. I thought I looked quite adorable."

"What is Raven wearing?"

"I believe this was during her Lucille Ball phase."

Erik struggled to keep straight face.

"It was an improvement from Judy Garland."

Erik laughed loudly.

"I definitely find that hard to believe."

Charles grinned and pushed through the photos.

"Ah. Here's a good one."

Charles handed a photo to Erik and the older man chuckled.

"My mother threw a masquerade. Einstein was very groovy."

"This is only worse because you're old enough to know better," Erik teased.

"I thought it came out nicely," Charles pouted and pushed around in another box nearby and smiled. "Oh look here!"

Erik watched as Charles pulled out a tattered wig. He shook it violently then put it on his head without tucking his natural hair under the cap. Erik laughed.

"That looks horrible."

Charles pushed the gray strands up.

"Let's see what else is...Oh! Raven's elf bells." He put the bands on his wrists before continuing to dig around in the costume box. "I wonder if I have anything that you could-"

"Don't even try," Erik warned, crossing his arms. Charles just grinned and kept looking. "Charles."

"Ah ha!" Charles exclaimed and pulled out a velvety piece of cloth that looked like a tree dress. "Put this on."

"Absolutely not."

Charles grabbed it and lunged at Erik.

"Charles, get off!"

Charles laughed and wrapped the fabric around Erik's neck.

"And here's your hat." Charles put the small elf hat on his head proudly.

"I really hate you right now," Erik seethed and Charles could feel the bells on his wrist tremble in Erik's displeasure.

Charles simply smiled.

"If you're that jealous, we could trade."

Erik pulled off the offending wig from Charles' head.

"I don't know what to do with you sometimes, Charles."

Charles grinned boldly.

"I'm sure we could come up with something."

Erik grabbed him closer and breathed into his neck. His fingers pressed possessively into Charles' lower back.

"Oh, I'm sure-"

"Are you guys done..." Raven's sentence trailed away as she glared at them. "Why can't you get a room!?" she snapped. "Nobody wants to see this!"

She turned and stomped away.

"Raven!" Charles called but Erik's arms stayed tight around him. "Erik!"

"Let her be."

"Professor!" Hank's voice called from the hall.

"Professor?" Sean echoed.

"Raven? Where are you going?" Hank called.

"Professor, you there?" Alex shouted.

Erik sighed heavily and released Charles. The two men shared a look of disappointment before Charles stood up, knowing Erik would not make the effort to move from their compromising position. The bells on his right hand froze midturn. Charles looked back at Erik as the older man pulled off his get up.

"We'll finish this later?" Erik spoke into the box, shoving the old costumes back in their box.

Charles grinned.

"Naturally."

The bells went slack around Charles' wrist and the professor pulled the bands off. He rested them in Erik's hand with a sly smile on his lips.

"I'll see you later."

He disappeared around the corner, giving Erik one last teasing look. Erik breathed loudly and resumed moving the boxes alone. He would finish with Charles later and make the others pay for interrupting. As he walked into the hall, the boys glanced at him nervously before averting their eyes.

Erik grinned. Vengeance would be sweet.
