Dude, don't let those overly leftist jerks get to you. I definitely see where you're coming from. It's hard to move away from group stereotypes and more toward individuality when there is perpetuation of what is it to be "Asian" or "Black" or "Greek" (no not the ethnicity), and people who live by those standards. Granted, one cannot expect someone to act a certain way because of such existing perceptions, because it's their personal choice and preference.
Ignorance breeds hate, it is true. We're all prejudiced in some way, and only the naive can claim that they are above all prejudices.
I respect what you had to say. Just don't let the negative aspects of our school, prevalent more or less in our society as a whole, get to you.
Sorry for sounding overly optimist, but I really want you to get to know UCI better and like it here.
aw thanks. oddly enough though this entry had nothing to do with that other entry in the community. i have wanted to transfer from here for a few months though. thanks for the support anyways. :]
i know living in a dorm is tough, its a lot of people, its loud, and its extremely close quarters, and that makes anyone freak out. i REALLY wanted to leave Prado, i had a LJ setting for "no prado or uci" so i could just bitch everyone out. i did not like a good majority of ppl who i lived with because they were a bunch of pretentious, cliquey drama/musical theater majors who did not appreciate my sense of humor. i made a fool out of myself plenty of times and i got into skiffles with different folk, but i stuck it out, went to shows or the block and got rides with ppl to go out. if you move out, you will be known as that one who left, but if you just ignore everyone and stay away, you wont be seen as someone who couldnt hack it, you'll just be "not available" which is more precious cuz then youre time seems more valuble.
Oh I was just kidding about hating Prado, I don't live in Mesa Court this year. I was in Mesa for two years, but I'm commuting this year, and I'll be in VDC next year.
I was just interested on how you could block a whole hall.

May I ask why you're transferring from here? Initial Facebook stalking shows you to be relatively involved with a lot of friends.
