I think ravings isn't the right word...

Pissed off rantings and offerances of J.K. Rowling's soul to the devil would be more appropriate.

Look, I'm so mad I made up the word "offerances" instead of just using offerings!

To: Readers. If you haven't read the book yet (and shame on you) I take no responsibility from this point on that I won't reveal something crucial - though inadvertantly, of course.

Come come, surely you must admit it was a doozy, in the least. It couldn't be all stickers and ponys, especially with only one book left.

*glares*

You and Alex are both trying to reason with Rowling's logic, and it's just not right.

I knew there would be some serious badness...but to be honest, that was totally unexpected. Well, part of it. Nonetheless, it's more than a little growl-worthy.

You'll probably be waiting for ravings til the cows come home, pretty much everyone I've talked to, including myself, think this one is kind of garbage.

I thought it was amazing! Why didn't you like it? I guess perhaps I'm asking a question that could be a spoiler to people who haven't read it yet...

for the sake of those who haven't read the book yet:
POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!

I dunno I mean it wasn't terrible but it just paled in comparison to the other books. This one was less action packed. Not much real action happened until the end. There wasn't very much quidditch in this one either. Speaking of I found the fact that Gryffindor still made first place a little unbelievable. Three hundred is a lot of points. I didn't find the new DADA teacher very interesting. Also like most people I don't think I ever fully believed Snape was on the good side either so that wasn't too much of a shock. I didn't cry over the death in this book like so many people I know. I cried over Sirius though. And even though I've been a Ginny/Harry shipper from the beginning after awhile the everyone falling in love stuff started to kill me. Parts were just like a fanfiction or something. I'm curious about how the next book'll go though, seeing how Harry says he's not going back to Hogwarts even if they do open. Also who do you think'll be the new ( ... )

I agree that the snogging aspect was a little unexplored territory for her, but I didn't think it was bad - but maybe a little amateurish, yes. If nothing else, I'm just happy that all the shipper stuff is more or less settled, at least as far as the canon goes ( ... )

When you say you haven't gotten it, do you mean you don't understand it, or that you haven't recieved the latest book?

i don't think i really asked andy or mal after we saw it, but i absolutely loved Charlie. tell me you didn't like the direction of the story better this time. i think in the original, they sort of took the "easy" way out, and the characters definitely didn't have as much depth.

sure, the CGI was a bit much at some points, but i think the story and the acting more than made up for that business.

I think stylistcally the characters were better formed in the new one, but they turned into archetypes for me. I prefer the dialogue-based character development of the old one.

It comes down to that, really, for me. The content of the old one was just better, imo. I think Tim Burton did a good job doing what he does best, and that the second picture was directed better in general, but that these things didn't matter because the stuff he had to work with was just blah at best.

Plus, everyone sang in the first one, and didn't do it in different spoon-fed genres.

But yeah I mean if you liked it I'm not saying it was filth, just not my cup of tea.
