Recorded a new song. I was just gonna make something silly, since I was doing it for Carly's friend Maggie, but when I started noodling around it came out alot more serious.
Maggie's Song.
I always seem to get the feelin' that I'm sinkin', puttin down roots in the hardwood floors.
These sounds'd never be heard if we didn't make them, lookin' to the sky for bluebirds.
My skin may crawl but I never will. Our fathers cracked whips and they're with us still,
Smilin', head down, hummin' through the stereo wires.
Got a watch for graduation, a golden momento (Ah ah, oh oh oh).
After twenty-five years I'll be used to it (Oh oh, uh oh, no).
Now I wear a watch I can't stop checkin', the ringin' in my ears remind me what has been,
Antennas catchin' signals in the radio waves.
Carryin' a tune that's hitchin' a ride.
The reverb reminds us that we die.
The wax and wane carries in the tide, the fever in my head means my blood starts to rise,
Smashin' through the islands and breakin' on the sea wall.
I always seem to get the feelin' that I'm sinkin' (ah ah oh ah ah).
These sounds'd never be never heard if we didn't make them (buh buh bah bah bah bah).
My skin may crawl but I never will. Our fathers cracked whips and they're with us still,
Smilin', head down, hummin' through the radio wires.
PS - I suck at trumpet.
