I have had a bit of a kick up the Bum this morning and have realised that i can't see a future in web development anymore.... tbh I can't program for shit and I have just sat through a lecture on Multi User Database implementation and realised that unlike the row of about 30 nerds behind me I don't have a clue about any of this and now its Y2 I am ( Read more... )

Least you've tried it fella - lots of people either quit or struggle on, you've had the foresight to realise what the situation is and to already formulate a plan to rectify things in mind. All credit to ya fella.

As for programming, HTML, VB, C++, Java etc are all pretty easy once you get into 'em (Got a fair few books you can borrow if you like) but things like SQL, SUN etc just blitz my head (And I was learning 'em for a couple of years! Didn't actually learn anything per se ... but, ya know ... was interesting in a "Bwah ? What are they on about ?" kinda way....)

Creative stuff - if only I could! Still, you've got plenty of opportunities at the moment and lots of avenues to explore - sure you'll find summat groovy to turn your hand to.

I know that there is an option to change and so I am gonna take it. I found jkavascript and SQL is just for number crunchers and I have never been a numbers person. So I need to revert to something back out from a computer technical skill and go for something more theory based, at least with that you can pick up a book and just learn it straight through and through....

Javascripts quite cool for an object orientated language - mostly they're all horribly comples where as Javas just awkward with some quirky rules.

SQL - Yeah. Mental. Nuff said. Didn't like it and still don't. It's horrid and smells of giraffe snot !

Sounds like you've got your direction sorted fella - nice one.

Hey that's it, stick with it, stay focused and well done for seeing that you need a change and doing something about it.

Thanks, I don't think i am just running away from it, I really feel that I can't do it.... I need to do something about it or I doubt I will pass the course.

I have just read your post. Thanksfully I only had a check up. I hate the dentist they are so barbaric its untrue!
