I have seen two movies recently: 8 Mile and Punch-Drunk Love.

8 Mile: A promising premise, solid direction by Curtis Hanson (his mark is on every frame in a good way), and a charismatic (if limited) star with a spark in his eyes in Eminem. It is however undercut and cut down by rather formulaic script writing and plot and character pitfall ( Read more... )

High Fidelity is an amazing movie. It is really growing to be one of my favorites of all time. It gets better on repeat viewings, if not at the very least staying fresh. Performances, direction, script, soundtrack, the look, the feel all rock. It hit the spot ( Read more... )
