Glasses and discussions

Ended up ordering my new glasses through LensCrafters; they were having a sale, and with the insurance discount it turned out to be the cheapest (plus they have more kinds of lenses and options, i.e. anti-reflective coating, than BJ's did). So those should be ready this week. I cannot WAIT - I was astounded at how much I could not read at the eye ( Read more... )

Hi Shauna,

Good luck with your new glasses! I hope they will help you see better and feel better too. (((((Shauna))))) I know I've sure been appreciating mine a lot and I bet you'll enjoy yours too.

I've been thinking about the issue of complaining too, although I try not to complain too much. In my case, I've been thinking about the people affected by the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile - that's been on my mind this week, and in comparison, thinking I have nothing to complain about. That's been my yardstick, if you will.

Then again, sometimes being able to talk about a difficult situation honestly with a caring listener is important, and I don't think that is necessarily complaining, just talking about reality. Sometimes it's very healthy to do so. I spent a lot of years not being able to talk about what things were like and keeping too much to myself, so I think one can go too far in the direction of keeping things bottled up also.

Hugs,
Erin

Exactly - when you're going through something really tough, and the fact is that it's difficult to deal with, that's just the truth and talking about it to try and help sort through it is definitely *not* complaining in my book. :-)

I agree...too much complaining=not good, but bottling things up =not good either.
Balance is the best...hugs and so proud of you managing your life well.
Gotta thank Mark one more time for that perfectly strategically placed
