It is certainly an eventful couple weeks when the biggest news headlines are all from outside this country and hold our attention in a big way

I have to smile because on one level you are channeling your grandfather Albert...who was a nuclear physicist, had great respect for the up and down sides of nuclear energy, managed a pool type reactor here at LLNL back when it was the 'Rad Lab'. And he also threatened to hook the tv set up to the exercise bike so you could not watch unless you pedaled...
My sadness about the situation besides the concerns you voiced, is that the focus on the suffering Japanese people who have lost everything and family members is being forgotten...and needs to be remembered. Even without any nuclear situation this was and is a huge human tragedy.
I've had this discussion with Dave. Turns out that horse-power means something and human-power ain't as much. For example, you probably couldn't wash the gym towels that get sweaty with the people-power that generated the sweat. Which isn't to say that people generating energy is a bad idea, just not a sufficient idea.
We need to be using ALL types of alternative energy, not to mention it'd be nice if we could figure out some ways of cutting down our consumption without compromising our lifestyle. But I don't think we get out of the energy problems without nuclear power, it's a whole lot safer than coal and oil, it's cleaner, and therefore is an acceptable stopgap until we get things together to use other alternatives exclusively.
Your blog looks nice, even so it would be far better if you’ll be able to use lighter colors too as a professional design. This will make sure that a lot more readers come to check it out.Informative post by the way!
