today's discovery: a few minutes bike ride from my house leads to... kansas countryside, essentially. it's not so much a "discovery" since i already knew this, but a "realization" since i had never taken advantage of it before. and if you take fifteenth street back into town, you get the added bonus of being able to bike through the lawrence

soon it will be cold and rainy and bleh...
than it will be winter, and i will be content for about a month...
but than..than..
i will cocoon myself up for the winter...
and hope that next spring will not take too long.

15th St!!! Reading about biking down that road gives me memories. I took that back street from Sunflower to where NCS was/is for my 8 hr/day, 8 dollar and hour wage slave job back in '98. God I hated that job. It made me dream of being homeless and rent/job free. Well, at least I can hold my head high and say they didn't make a profit off me...hehe. Did they ever pave that road leading into the corporate park? I remember locals coming off the highway driving down it, coating me in a storm of dust coming off their tires. And then that one farm house a half mile east of the tracks with the wild dogs that chased me for sport....
