If I were writing the storyline, it'd be from an item they both happened to touch at the same time....

YES. (That's the only way it would make sense, actually.)

Had they gone with Myka and HG, though... They had more chemistry in the few scenes they had together than Myka and Pete ever had. Myka and Pete always had a big sis/little brother vibe. Love and affection, yes -- but not the romantic kind. Whereas Myka and HG... sizzled.
