This weekend I'm going to New York to see Alan Cumming's one-man play of Macbeth on Broadway. I'm really excited! But I also realized that I knew absolutely nothing about Macbeth, so I decided that I should probably, ya know, actually read the play before going to see it. I did Macbeth in school but can remember about the same as you did. I've never got along with Shakespeare that well which is annoying but I love how much has made its way into modern culture and even just everyday phrases we use. Speaking of which, there's a great children's show over here called Horrible Histories which did a song about those

(HH is fantastic, particularly the songs - this series had a great one about Rosa Parks plus one about transport pioneers in the style of Greased Lightning!)

Have a fantastic time :)

Ha, that video was awesome. And crazy, because I never realized "You've got to be cruel to be kind" was a Shakespeare phrase...and also a song...that is in 10 Things I Hate About You!! Mind = blown.

Heehee, I adore him, too (used to be a little obsessed...) Why don't I have an Alan Cumming icon?
