My response turned into a long and elaborate explication of why I didn't immediately fall in love with Vox. So I decided to (duh da duh) post it to Vox:
2. That's because it's such a small, relatively élite community right now that I'm getting friended and commented by total strangers who happen upon posts, and so far that's been pretty nice. That's just a side effect of this being a closed beta test thingy, but hey, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Ok, yeah, that works. I'm just wondering now why I so desperately wanted a Vox account and I think it was mostly because I thought the multimedia factor would be *much* better integrated than it is on LJ, and maybe I would write different stuff there. Or, and this is pretty likely, I was just momentarily blindsided by my love of Nicholson Baker and his much-hated (by reviewers and readers alike, but I didn't think it was that bad) novel, entitled, yes, "Vox." It's about phone sex.

I will note two things here that I didn't there:
1. Vox is growing on me.
2. That's because it's such a small, relatively élite community right now that I'm getting friended and commented by total strangers who happen upon posts, and so far that's been pretty nice. That's just a side effect of this being a closed beta test thingy, but hey, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
