Love you too, Cricket. I really miss reading you, but I completely understand that you actually have a life that involves your being out and about and away from your computer. I have a BA in English, and I still don't really know how to do the quotes within quotes move, so don't trip. Love that guitar case...looks like Chungi does, too. Scratch that cat behind the ears for me if you get a chance. hugs & kisses
Thanks, Saz. It feels good to be missed. :) Some folks here in my comments have taught me how to do the quotes thing, so feel free to peek at the lessons. Chungi's ears have just been scratched and he thanks you for it. xo
Thanks! Yes, like most of my painting surfaces I found this guitar and case in my alley. I used sign painter's enamels actually. They're way more durable than acrylic and have a sort of vinyl sticker-like finish to them. They're also way more toxic so it's wise to wear a mask while using them. I suppose you could also use acrylics but they'd probably chip or flake way more easily and have a little bit of a flatter look.
Mr. Silva remarked, "I was reading an article in Rolling Stone the other day and I was shocked when I saw that 50 Cent had said, 'Ja Rule is a bitchass nigga.' I was always under the impression that the were fdriends ands associates."
Dude, good for you about turning down the Nissan campaign. I was once asked to interview for a publicist position with Philip Morris tobacco. I said, "No, thanks." And even though I really wanted that Rockstar Games job, I thought the fact that I'd be promoting Vice City was pretty questionable.
Well, now that you know how to do the quote-in-a-quote thing I won't be redundant.
BUT just to give an alternative view about your Nissan decision: Are you aware that one of the largest employers and one of the largest "corporations" in the city of Chicago is the Chicago Public Schools? And I see your work everyday on the side of Jones Commercial high school. True enough, CPS is not a multinational corporation but it's a corporation nonetheless, and one that is arguably, systematically shortchanging kids who look like you and me everyday. There are some artists who might say they wouldn't want their work "cheapened" in buildings that are not only not educating but in many cases destroying our children.
I dunno. We all draw our lines in the sand based on what spirit tells us to do. But ultimately it's all a tradeoff. We're all still eating/drinking/buying/wearing/*driving*/de facto supporting some entity that is not altogether in line with our personal beliefs. I love you and the beauty of your work whether it's displayed in

Yes, you definitely can just keep going on and on with it since things are far from perfect, but I still think it's important to draw the line somewhere. My taking part in an ad campaign that that I feel is using some shallow tactics to appeal to a potential market is basically me saying, "Look, these people will do anything to make a buck, and hey, so will I

Thanks, Richard! I've always thought you were a pretty remarkable and respectable fellow yourself. Totally original personality and a realizer of dreams. Don't let those people that make fun of you get you down!
Ahh, Gregory has pulled the ol' switcheroo on his icon here. My comment was knee-slapping and gut-bustingly hilarious when it was his Richard Simmons icon instead. Curses!

I think the american convention is "big quotes on the 'outside,' little qoutes on the inside."

I have to admit I've been curious to play that game even though it does look pretty awful.

I hear you and I think I pretty much acknowledged everything you said.
Anyway, so sorry that you think I'm taking a piss on you. On my boyfriend, sure. But you? Never!
