God, this makes me soooo happy! What could be better than not only having your work recognized and getting paid, but you get to have it in a train station! That must be so unbelievably rewarding- and you're going to Germany! Oh my god, congratulations!!!
I know. It's crazy, I'm still tripping on this...oh jeez, no pun intended... You'll have to send me a list of the good German words, so I can get in some fights, alrighty? What was that one up top?
Schön means "beautiful"...make sure you pronounce w's as v's and that ß means double-S, and you'll be fine. Oh, and ich bin warm means "I am gay", NOT to be confused with mir ist warm, which means "I am hot" ...I figured that was one of the more important things my German teacher explained in class...haaar! Sooo exciting!!
You know, there's a greasy spoon on 125th and Madison called "No Pork On My Fork". You can bring her there someday to make up for the swine on your spine.
that's awesome! do you know if the new york transit authority does things like that? i think your work would definitely brighten up our crummy subway stations..
Yes, actually they've done it with that same company that I'm outsourcing the work to in Germany. That's how I found out about them in the first place. That's another great thing about this whole thing is that it's opened up a big door for me in the public art realm. I'm excited about the possibility of generating some other projects from this. That would be great to be able to have a station in NYC, sheeeit. Hook me up!
