Bee! How did you get into that abandoned building?!

:U

I found a more neutral backdrop that I want to order, though I'm a little skint at the moment due to having to pay rent with this paycheck, so it'll have to wait. I just want to buy goodies for my dollies!! D:

In non-dollie news, I've been listening to a lot of books from Audible. I got myself a monthly subscription that gives me 2 credits every month, but that hardly holds me, and I've been spending a little too much money buying other books as well. Though I usually try to only buy the ones that I can get a discount on if I have the Kindle book first (with my Amazon credit, yesss) it's still taxing.

Anyways, since I drive a lot, and don't have a tv at home, I've been listening to books pretty much non-stop. You see, before I got a paid membership to Audible, I'd only ever listened to (long) books that I'd read before. I had to re-learn how to listen when I got my first new-to-me audiobook, and especially because it was one by China Mieville. Since then, I've gotten a few more by him, the Earthsea books (the first 3 only on audio - the 4th & 5th aren't available, and the 6th had bad narration reviews, so I just read them on my Kindle app), a Diana Wynne Jones book I'd already had the Kindle version of, so got at a discount, and a Discworld book I hadn't read.

I'd heard of or read all of those authors before, though, and wanted to find an epic fantasy book that was really long and had good reviews, but wasn't too much of a stereotyped story. I finally decided on a nice, long book that while it had a ton of good reviews (which I don't always trust, because lots of people have very bad taste) I'd also found favorable mentions of the author on more discerning review sites. I'm only in the third part out of 7 in this book, which is 45 hours long in total, but just today I went and found out that while this book came out in 2010, the 2nd book isn't due until March of this year. Four years, ugh! I then looked up the series itself and found out that the author is planning this series to be made up of TEN BOOKS. Argh! I don't want to have to wait forever for all of those books! D: I was already a little bummed about having to wait until March for the 2nd one, and then was hoping it would either finish with that, or just be a trilogy like one of his other series. :/ Bah.

So, yeah. I'm pretty bummed/annoyed that I've gotten myself into a long series that's only just started without realizing it. I didn't even get into Harry Potter until 4 books were out, and then that was right before the 5th one came out. :[

Also, audiobooks are so expensive! I mean, I understand all the production that needs to go into them and hiring people for that and the sound mixing and the voice actors, but I drive so much for work and listening to books helps keep that from being boring, and I don't really want to stop listening when I get home to read something else, you know? That's what was good about when I rode the bus to work - I could read books on the ride easily, and keep going when I got home if I wanted to. Can't read and drive though, especially not in Miami. u_u;

Ok, I just wanted to complain a little about that whole TEN BOOK SERIES thing, and my feelings about it were too long for twitter. ;P

audiobooks, sabina, doll photos, incoherent babble
