I cleaned my screen with water and saliva (I was drinking water) when I read the part about the "so very French" waiter. =P

Your walk on Saturday was just like one Laura and I did on a Sunday while we were there. The Arc was free to ascend, of course, on Sunday as all kinds of rules change for Sunday. Did you notice that?

Yeah, I thought that sounded mighty familiar.

I'm amazed at what has happened to Monmartre. The last time I was there, maybe 5 years ago, it was an utter ghetto. It was somewhere you just didn't go unless you had to, and definitely not after dark.

Yeah, we walked around that spot earlier this year and it was like... what the West Village imitates.

It's back towards Montmartre but Laura and I went here and it was amazing fun.

Refuges des Fondues. The address is 17, rue des Trois Frères, and it is down the hill from Sacre Coeur.

They sit you all at long benches [they help the ladies vault over the tables to sit against the wall] and they have two types of fondue, meat and cheese. And all kinds of dipping stuffs and the drinks, red wine, white wine, and soft drinks and what are served in baby bottles with nipples. It's really cool.
