I completely agree, Jordan, that if asked to kill themselves, either of them might very well have done it. There are people in this world, I'm sure, that are too selfish even to do that, but I think all humans are infused with a kind of human morality, maybe through society, maybe through genetics, maybe through God - I don't know - that would make them want to sacrifice their life for the greater good. There's no question, in my mind, that most people, unless acting solely out of fear, would be able to realize that sacrificing their life is the better thing to do, especially someone whose human morals are reinforced with a faith as strong as yours and your girlfriends.

However, that is not what I asked. I asked, specifically, if they would sacrifice the other for the lives of everyone at the restaurant. This is a much different story, as even though only one person is dying in comparison to dozens, and even though it's still obviously moral to have the other sacrificed for the lives of everyone else (this is assuming there is no ( ... )

P.S. Did you possibly mean: "Man has no greater love than this, than to lay down ones life for his friends." Or "No greater love does man have than this...." or something like that?
