agree with you on Hostel. i hate horror slasher movies at the best of times and this just made me hate them even more.
don't agree with you on Hard Candy though. while it was no masterpiece i thought it was very interesting and well written. i think its the idea that you don't know where your sympathies lie in the movie. you're not even sure he is a peado until the end of the movie. the movie is a moral mind-field, which, fine if you don't like that kind of thing...
I found Hard Candy really uncomfortable too. Sure, that might have been part of the point but I wish I hadn't paid money to be tortured. That's why I avoided Hostel! Plus the actress in that! I HATED her character. And she's the same gal who played my favourite comic book character ever (Shadowcat) in X-Men 3??? Fuck. Off. Oh yeah and Brick, while solid, was kind of disappointing too. I don't like to dwell on the bad but my cruddest film of the world would probably have to be... Eragon. Just embarrassing.
