Where are YOU?

JOHTO

Isn't the tiny town you wake in so quaint and lovely? The wind is breezing, the water nearby is sloshing against the edge of town, the Pidgey are chirping in the distance..

Oh, right, you want to leave New Bark Town.

Your region map that's stuffed in your bag! (version 2 that is more realistic though it isn't labeled)
Version 3 with travel times (thank you so much, hikari_sukuru!)

Violet City Gym
Route 36
*Note: The grove of Sudowoodo here has moved on, meaning the road between Goldenrod and Violet is clear.
RUINS OF ALPH MAP COMING SOON
Route 32
Union Cave
*Note: Only the first floor will be available, a rock slide having covered the ladder that leads deeper into the cave. It will be cleared at a later date.
Route 33
Azalea Town
The Slowpoke Well
*Note: For those with water types, SURPRISE! Your Pokemon can't actually help you through the water to that other ladder. There is a strange undercurrent that pushes inward to land, so it's impossible to swim through it at this time.
Ilex Forest
*Note: Don't break the shrine. There won't be any problems if your character is nice, but if you have a bully that feels like breaking things.. well let's just say they get knocked out with no memories and wind up back in Azalea Town where the nurse is cautioning you about messing with the shrine with as vague of words as possible. Characters will be there overnight for their Pokemon to heal up.

~*~DISTANCES~*~

From New Bark Town to Cherrygrove = Three days.
From Cherrygrove to Violet = One week.
From Violet to Union Cave = Six days.
Getting through Union Cave = Depends on how lost your character gets. Two days is the least amount of time they can spend there.
From Union Cave to Azalea = One day from morning to sunset if at a brisk pace. Otherwise, One day and halfway through the night if at a leisurely pace.
Through the Ilex Forest = Five days, if you're lucky. At most without getting lost, six days. Hey, it's a big forest!
From exiting Ilex Forest to Goldenrod = Four days.
Goldenrod to National Park = One and a half days. Half a day if a bike is used :)
National Park to 'Sudowoodo Crossing' = Two days.
'Sudowoodo Crossing' to Violet City = One and a half days.
'Sudowoodo Crossing' to Ecruteak City = Three days.
Violet City to Ecruteak City = Only when Sudowoodo has been moved! Four and a half days.
Ecruteak City to Mt. Mortar entrance = Half a day.
Exploring Mt. Mortar entirely? = One and a half weeks to Two weeks. Giant mountain is giant inside. Two weeks max for someone with no sense of direction. One week to those who have excellent sense of direction.
Ecruteak City to Mahogany Town = Requires Surf. One day of surfing with a brief stop to cross an inlet surrounded by rock and trees so exploration is minor.
Ecruteak City to MooMoo Farm = Three days.
MooMoo Farm to Olivine City = One week. THIS IS FARM COUNTRYYYYY enjoy the flat lands.
Olivine City to Cianwood = Requires Surf to travel alone, but not advised since it takes two dangerous days of random encounters and possibly rough currents. Three days by a Jenny run ferry (no, it is not that crazy Jenny). The bonus of using Surf instead of the ferry is that it's a bit faster, cheaper, and you can't get seasick!
Cianwood to SAFARI ZONE = Three days. What, you think scaling cliff walls is fast and easy?
Mahogany Town to Lake of Rage = Half a day.
Mahogany Town to Ice Path = Two days.
Traveling through Ice Path = One week. Have fun slip and sliding 8D
Ice Path to Blackthorn City = One day.
Blackthorn City to Route 29 = Two weeks.

~*~DISTANCES~*~

From Pallet to Viridian City = 2 days.
From Viridian to its Forest = 2 days.
Viridian Forest proper = 7 days minimum, 10 maximum, and 14 for the directionally challenged.
Viridian Forest to Pewter = Half a day of hiking
From Pewter City to Mount Moon = 3 days of uphill hiking! Fun times!
Mt Moon interior = 2 weeks, 3 if lost. It's a BIG mountain. There are rumors that Clefairy can be spotted dancing at cave mouths under the full moon.
From Mt Moon to Cerulean City = 3 days of downhill strolling. How boring.
From Cerulean City to the Cape = the bridge takes about two hours to cross by itself, but there are a lot of enthusiastic trainers to slow you down. From Nugget bridge, it's a day's walk to the Cape, where Bill's grandfather runs a B&B. A perfect romantic getaway!
Cerulean to Saffron = 3 days. The underground path has been shut down.
Cerulean to the Rock Tunnel = 4 days' hike, plus an hour Surfing to get to the Power Plant.
Rock Tunnel: 7 days, up to 10 if lost. Unlike other caves, which frequently have lights strung up, porous stone that lets sunlight stream through, or torches for travelers, Rock Tunnel is complete, pitch-black darkness. People suffering from acute claustrophobia are advised to hire a guide for P3000, cutting travel time to the minimum.
From Rock Tunnel to Lavender Town = 1 day of glorious daylight. Or night-time. Oops.
Lavender Town to Saffron City = 3 days.
Saffron City to Vermilion = 4 days.
Saffron City to Celadon City = 2 days.
Bike Path = 1 week of hilly bike travel; walking is prohibited. A bike can be rented at the Path's northern or southern entrances for P100/day.
Vermilion to Pewter (Diglett Cave) = 3 days. Bikes are prohibited to avoid endangering the Digletts. Hikers are warned that cave-ins and earthquakes can occur at any moment.
Vermilion to Olivine (Cruise) = 3 weeks. This is a luxury cruise; tickets are P50000 one-way, bed and food and free daily massage and activities included.
Vermilion to Silence Bridge = 3 days.
Silence Bridge to Fuchsia = 2 weeks of flat travel. The 'bridge' itself is more of a network of quays stretching over the waterways south of Lavender.
Fuchsia to the Seafoam Islands (and Cinnabar Gym, and adjoining B&B) = 2 day, 2 night ferry ride for P1000, or 1 day, 1 night Surf for free! ...on open, choppy waters full of dangerous pokémon.
Seafoam to Cinnabar Island = 3 day, 2 night ferry ride for P1500, or 2 day, 1 night Surfing.
Cinnabar to Pallet Town = 4 day, 3 night ferry for P2000, or 2 day, 2 night Surf.

RIDING A BIKE?

Characters who purchase bikes in Goldenrod City are in for getting their moneys worth! Bikes take off up to two days of travel time, depending on how rough the terrain in the route is.
Near mountains? It's probably rough riding (try not to ride over Geodudes, they hate that).
Near the forest? Curse those roots for catching your balance and curse those sticks for popping your tires! Some of the most ridiculous riding occurs here.
Riding on sand? l-lol GOOD LUCK RIDING ON SAND.
Riding on ice? WHAT IS THIS, THERE IS NO RIDING ON ICE. Just slip and falling. Yeah, the treads suck that badly.
Riding on flat farmland? EASIEST. RIDING. EVER. Two days travel time can be cut off in these locations.

RIDING A POKEMON?

Characters with large Pokemon that can be ridden are in for a special treat! Pokemon are way faster than humans, so it's only natural that they get places faster too!

Pokémon that can be ridden include, but are not limited to: Rhyhorn, Ponyta, Rapidash, Onix, Venasaur, Skarmory, Doduo, Arcanine, Houndoom, and so on in those kinds of categories. If you aren't sure, feel free to ask a moderator!

If the Pokemon is in it's natural element, it can move way faster since it's.. well, this is an area built for it! In example, Onix just cruise control all over mountains, Doduo can make it across a flatland with no problem, Ponyta kick ass everywhere but on ice (hooves ice = bad idea), and so on.

Depending at the pace one pushes their Pokemon, they can cut up to four days of traveling time off their distance! Of course, the Pokemon will be totally beat from nonstop running for four days and will need said four days to recuperate in a PokéCenter, but at least you'll be in town, right?

Pokémon that use fly can travel a ground day's worth in two to three hours, depending on the evolution, size, and experience of the pokémon and how many people and how much luggage is being carried. Simplified: 1 day on ground = 2-3 hours in the air. If your character possesses a map of the area, they may Fly to places they have never been, but owing to inexperience, this may take 4-5 hours per day of land travel. Pokémon like pidgey or spearow cannot Fly outside of battle, unlike in the games. Please remember to add in breaks and whatnot necessary for your pokémon to withstand the flight without over-exhaustion. Most pokémon cannot fly more than 6 hours without at least a one hour break.
