Well, I officially signed a lease today to stay in this apartment through at least summer of 2006. It was a relief to lock in the price they'd offered on the phone. Another cat thought I had was, when getting your new cat, you should try to either get one without claws or declaw it, because if memory serves, your current cat is declawed, and cats with claws literally like to torture those without. Another thing is you should attempt to get your new cat as young as possible, so they are less set intheir ways and they are more likely to get along with new cats they encounter.

I'll ask Jeannie about whether Mr. Skeffington was exposed to other cats at the humane society and how he reacted, but from his general behavior, I think he's much more likely to just hide than pick a fight with Kanika. And I'll double-check, but I don't think John would allow a cat that wasn't declawed, even for Jeannie.
Second paragraph:
I fully intend to get a cat that is declawed or I'll have it done. The other cool thing about Kanika is that even though she is very friendly and affectionate, she's also a bit of a pushy bitch. So I'm not really worried about her being overly abused by another cat.
