I just went into the bedroom. Kanika was curled up by the pillows, while Panya was stretched out near the foot of the bed. They weren't together, but they were both hanging out on the bed about three to four feet away from each other. They're adjusting... every little bit helps. Awesome!

As suggested by chebutykin, I went to Slumberland and bought a mattress protector that is a thin, waterproof mattress cover that's not plasticky, but actually made of a cool, high-tech fabric. I'd kept both cats out of my room for several days, but I've had the protector on the bed and they've had access to the room for over a day and a half and nothing has happened, so I guess we'll see. It certainly could have been a one time thing, as part of adjusting to the new environment.
