Household tip, anyone?

A few days ago, I left a potato peeler on a plate, sitting in the sink with some water. It left a rust stain on the plate. Does anyone know a good product to remove the rust stain from the china without screwing up the finish? I may be stuck, but I figured it's worth a shot.

I would try some CLR. It is designed to remove rust stains from all sorts of surfaces
