My good friend kessadebra wanted me to pass along this little tidbit. As her husband manages a movie theater, she's well aware that managers don't make bonuses on ticket sales, they make them on concessions. Why does this matter to us? It was originally slated for late April, I think the 22nd. The studio approached Joss with the fact that there was a lot of big films to go up against: Hitchhiker's Guide a week later, Star Wars not long after that and a bunch of summer stuff including Batman and the Fantastic Four. They were worried that it could open well, but then take a big nose dive as the geek-themed competition grew fierce. So they pushed it back.
