I have come accross a sudden feeling of having grown immeasurably, probably from the last few months, despite still being seemingly very much the same (oh dear, I'm going to sound like a pretentious LJ twat here aren't I ( Read more... )

I'm not really sure I understand this whole "home from home" thing. I have too many ties to move really far.

It's very easy.

You move.

You make new friends.

You buy new furniture from Ikea that is better than your old furniture from Ikea.

Though I only like Leeds because I fancy the girl next door.

Yeah but I know lots of people who moved, hated it and came back.

I think I would be in that category.

I'd move if the girl next door did.

If you want to go to the Cube on NYE, and if you get this message in time, phone me at work today (Thursday) - 0117 9589611 (9am til 4pm).

I think that there are still tickets left - I can phone and check, and if you are up for it I can go and pick one up for you.

Otherwise, have a great new year.

Thankyou very much but

a) it is too late

b) I've now got it arranged to come home on Sunday, and I still won't have enough time to see everyone I want to.

I've spent a New Year's Eve stuck in a place I really didn't want to be, so I thought I'd make the offer. Have a great one, whatever you get up to. And get really, really drunk.

F**k me! you've got more comments for this post than i've ever got on my LJ ever ever!

Point 1: I think you might be experiencing the first waves of the euphoria that is independance. When I come up on my independance trip man, it was better than sex. Nowadays, i'll do just about anything, whoring myself, data entry, mopping floors, cleaning toilets, to keep that independance high!

Point 2: It occurred to me this year more forcefully and definitely than ever that home was not where my parents and my oldest friends were. In fact home was sitting in my bedroom in bristol on me own with a cd or a book on. And the whole time, this is what i was pining for. Now i may come across as a miserable begger, but truth is, i love being that way, being me is a riot! (see point 1)

I already knew home wasn't where most of my oldest friends were, as most of my oldest friends have long since dispersed to various different places - mostly north.
