I don't think you're a bad parent. Things like this happen. It's like a contract you sign when you have children. If you give them 2 minutes to be free they will indeed take the worst possible route to freedom.

I'm just a sister and I've already not paid attention to Olivia (then 2 years old) for 2 minutes and she threw herself right down our basement stairs.

You're right. *Sighs* I still feel horrible. I promised my boys I would protect them as best I can and never let people do to them the same things that were done to me when I was their age.
