Stress like woah.

So yeah, a week or two ago, I found out that I won't be getting university housing at DCU. That really sucks as now I have to find an apartment near the college. This has not been fun. Why is it that apartment complexes post contact information and say they'll get back to you, when they never do? Augh. I have only managed to get a hold of one place ( Read more... )

Thank you for the advice. I will add craigslist to my searches. These roommate sites that you mention, can you possible link/name? I've been googling student housing in the area of the school and it's not been very easy to find stuff. The contact at DCU for housing as been...less than helpful? I applied back in November and only found out that I wasn't getting housing because I'd emailed asking about my application. I don't think had I not emailed, that she would have responded. When I've asked about apartments in the area, she only said to check daft.ie which really hasn't been that helpful, and to just check the student notices when I get here. That's a little worrying to me--is it okay to get there and then find a place? I'm rather worried about that. Have you or any of your friends done that? I'm annoyed because I'd leave two weeks earlier or so to find a place, but I booked my flight when I was counting on the university housing (I booked my flight for the day they said they would be having a pick up service for international ( ... )

I want to say peace out to you. My 21st birthday is Jan 25th. I'll be drinking.

Post pictures of your new hair. Try to reach the main offices of the apartments again and if they don't answer, find the company who owns them and get ahold of their head in charge.

I don't know about your particular situation, but I accidently got the manager fired of my last complex because I took my valid complaint straight to the top. I'll bet you can at least get someone to contact you if you go through that method, and make sure they understand that their follow-up is terrible. Hopefully their real estate owner is as concerned about future residents as my last complex was.

The problem to all of this is that I can't even get a hold of anyone. That makes complaining to a higher up quite difficult. I really wish I could and trust me, when I finally get a hold of someone, I'm going to say something about it. Knowing me though, it probably won't be angry or intimidating though--I tend to wuss out on things for as much as I complain privately.

It's not really so different or new, my hair has been short for almost a year and a half or so. I don't have any pictures really because, I don't take pictures of myself frequently.

Try not to get too drunk on your birthday. Oh twenty-one. It's so lovely to actually be able to buy alcohol.
