I biked forty kilometers today and saw deer, fuzzbutts (baby geese), groundhogs, tiny bun-buns, and even a raccoon. Also, COFFEE!!! And hundred twenty five year old black jet shoe buttons drying in a tea towel look a lot like dead beetles.

A duck made a nest against our house and laid eggs, even though there's no water nearby. They were fine for almost 2 weeks, but then predators came and got them all in 1 day. I was sad because I wanted the duckies to imprint on my pug and follow her around, which would have been unreasonably cute and would also probably have scared the shit out of her for a bit.

Poor mama duckie! Was it raccoons? And are you going to Z's tomorrow night?

Could have been, but we also have neighborhood cats, a fox, crows, possibly possums, and I'll bet some other stuff too.

Was thinking about it, but the hot weather, the band w/ cover, and that I'm working tomorrow have deterred me. Gah, haven't been out in a while.

That's a great ride. What are tiny bun-buns? I love reading about what you saw on your rides. *hugs*

Dead beetles, haha. Are they your buttons? Description is lovely. Will you be attaching them to something?

Tiny bun-buns are baby rabbits. So cute! :P

Yea...the shoe buttons are mine: I'm thinking about making a necklace out of them. I might be the only person with a victorian shoe button necklace!

Thanks for your interest...it makes me happy! :):):)

Aw! I'm jealous now that you saw them, but happy for you too.

That's a wonderful idea for a necklace. I have no idea about your jewelry making experience, but I'm happy to offer suggestions and any seed beads you might need to supplement the buttons. If you would be interested in going to a bead store (if you need a clasp, etc.), I'd adore going together!
