SO, my building claims they can raise my rent from $930 a month to $1250 because Jeff is moving out. We are both on the lease so I don't see how they can do that legally. Anyone know anything?
Hm... tell them that, with the price change, Jeff isn't going to move out after all?
Tell them that if they change the lease, you'll move out? (That probably won't help. If you were talking to the owner... sure. But the operating company probably gets a bonus for filling empty apartments, but not for keeping them occupied. So they bump you... then offer the next person the same rate you have, and get a bonus for filling a vacancy.)
And, of course, you probably don't want to move. It's a pain.
1) When is your lease up? Are you on month-to-month?
2) I am 99.9% sure they can't so what they're proposing.
3) I am 99.9% sure they can ask for some sort of guarantor or co-signer. I think their happy target range is that the price of rent is less than 40% of your income.
4) I cannot remember if you're on disability or not, but if so, do not sublet, make sure the other person gets on the lease, otherwise, they count your roommate's share as income (WTF!?)
I messaged zenten on facebook about it but haven't gotten a response yet - are you guys interested in sushi next week, 1000 Sushi Islands around 7pm, on either Tuesday or Wednesday (there's a slight bias for Wednesday right now)?

You said that Tuesday works better for sushi next week, but does Wednesday work at all? There's a bit more people who are asking for that day.
