what'd you think of the rock garden? it looks kind of big and.. barren!

It's supposed to be the most famous zen rock garden in the world and it's really, REALLY old. You're supposed to sit and stare at it until you figure out what it means to you. I remain unenlightened. But I still love zen rock gardens.

Yes yes. I went for Spring Break (I know, crazy, but it was my only chance to go). Tokyo was kind of our "base" because we were staying with friends who live there (in Roppongi, specifically). You will have an AWESOME time!!

Do you think it will bankrupt me? I'm trying to gauge how much eating/getting around is going to cost. The airfare is painful enough on its own.

Hmmm...at the risk of sounding too negative, I'll just go ahead and say that Japan is quite expensive. If you want to save, there are a few things you can do
