Not having seen any replies yet, I thought I would weigh in. It is ultimately up to you, of course - but if you are thinking you are overwhelmed, chances are you are. From a practical standpoint, you should focus on the things you are paying for - the classes that are part of your first year at Central. Extra stuff, while fun and enriching, can be dropped if it is causing you to have to compromise on your regular classes. You don't have to be Super Student - at least not your first year! College is hectic enough without adding more on top of it. So, basic message - volunteer things can wait or be dropped, your "work" right now is your classes.
I know that probably sounds like an "adult thing" to say, but that's the world you are moving into. It's all about choices.
