The thing I love about that common error is that the people who do it are usually trying to sound proper---and pretentious.

But really, Rilo-lover: "you and I" sometimes just sounds prettier than "you and me". It can carry more emotional impact. Don't you think of yourself as an "I" first and a "me" second? The "me" is the "I" made into an object! ARE YOU SAYING YOU BELIEVE IN OBJECTIFYING RILO KILEY?!!! YOU scoundrel OF A SHIT-STORM-CRUSTED FAN!

Who let the cops out?

I = subject
me = object
you = retarded and evil
us = the greatest land on earth

"cop-out" -> "who let the Jews out" -> "who let the cops out"

Rilo is saying she's a subject, not an object. You're telling her she should be objectified despite her creativity. Therefore, you are evil.
