Ooh, that sounds so annoying! I am delighted you are taking more pictures though! Oh dear, I have been meaning to as well and haven't...

I am technologically useless, and therefore have no helpful advice to offer... Perhaps you could ask around and see if anyone you know can lend you a USB cable? I mean, they do come with a lot of devices, right? That's the only solution I can think of, here!

Heh, i've run into the same problem when losing my camera's memory card too.

But about having them stand up without falling over, you could always take a small stick and attach it to their waists to hold them up while taking a shot (you'd have to edit the stick out afterward though).
