Why hello! Mia here, with her third villain character, Milady de Winter from the novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. Lieutenant Clarick de Winter is a beautiful young woman with a lovely voice and a luminous smile, and she will be joining the Victoria II as its newest radio operator.
She's looking forward to meeting you, especially if you're an impressionable person with more connections than insight who is not too likely to try to dig into a lady's past.

The numbers after the names are the odds; the larger the ratio, the larger the "risk" you take by betting on that pilot. Crowd favorites have smaller ratios, so this can also be taken as a measure of popular support for pilots and/or the expectation that those pilots will win. I've included NPC bets here, because... well.
Note that the odds also denote the payout: 30:1 means the payout is 30 francs per franc bet.
This will be updated as more bets are placed. Please feel free to change your bets while the races haven't started yet.
I've assumed all bets placed to be win bets, but you can have place or show bets as well. Place means the pilot must finish in the top two; show means the pilot must finish in the top three. Since these bets are safer than win bets, they have smaller payouts. Less risk, less gain.
However! It's not uncommon for people to place win, place, and show bets all on a single entry. If you'd like to do this, please let me know!
Bets placed on Alfred Jones will not affect the preliminary calculations of the odds since he's a last-minute entry. However, if your character knows about the last-minute entry and would like to bet on him, please feel free. The house will be sending an updated list of odds to all bettors just before the race begins.

I'm assuming, for simplicity's sake, that NPCs are joining the race at a ratio of 2 NPCs : 1 PC. The amounts bet on the NPCs are all uniform, each bet being an equal to the average of all the money wagered on the PCs.
Totally arbitrary house exchange rate of doom: 1 US dollar : 1 franc : 1.05 dubloons (that is, 0.95 francs : 1 dubloon). If no currency is stated, francs will be assumed. House exchange rate does not reflect actual real-world exchange rate but is the house's measure of the risk it assumes by taking on a different currency.
