The fresh air was already well received and for a moment, Adachi allowed himself to believe that it actually made his headache a liiiiittle better. He looked around, trying to figure out what he'd do until the slime was taken care of, then saw Souji.
Now what the heck was he doing out here?
Deciding he hadn't checked up on his favorite (haha) little detective wannabe in ages, he snuck up behind the boy, making sure his footsteps were light and unnoticeable. Once close enough he leaned over a bit to see what Souji was doing... and read over his shoulder. He quirked an eyebrow.
What in the world kind of writing was this...?
But the more he read the more his smile grew. Oh god, this stuff was bad. Hilariously bad. Finally he couldn't hold it in anymore and inadvertently alerted Souji to his presence with a snort.

"Ah, Adachi-san! You spooked me."
Even though he thought the detective was a bit of a dork (and with friends like Yosuke, he was an expert) he honestly liked the man. He was earnest and a good influence on his uncle, and made sure Dojima took care of himself at work.

"So whatcha reading anyways?" he asked nosily as he craned his head around to try and get a good look at the cover.
Adachi liked Souji too. Thought he was a good kid, albeit a little weird.
...when he kept his nose out of places it didn't belong at least.

"The Witch Detective." He replied, holding it up. It looked like a book that should have been in the hands of a girl looking for some fantasy love story, not a generally more serious boy like Souji. But the teen did a lot of things someone his age and station normally wouldn't be seen dead doing.

His luck was weird that way, with Yosuke popping up next.
Normally he'd be torn in stopping his reading. He loved Yosuke like a brother, but even the other knew that when Souji got going it was hard to drag his nose back to reality, even to be socal. But with this book it was a blessing.
"...abusing my mind, that's what." He replied with a slight scowl, closing the book and offering it to Yosuke to look at.

"...why the hell are you even reading this?!" came the almost-screech from Yosuke as he pretty much just dropped the book in shock at the last passage he read. That was just... just... ew. Just. Yeah. No.

"I don't think he realized how cruel he was being. But I can't stand not finishing a book." Having it sit on his shelf, undone, drove him to distraction. For awhile it was being used as a stand for his water-fish tank.

Everything had happened so fast. The Captain, everything...this wasn't what she'd signed up for when she wanted to join a Mercenary ship, but this didn't upset her at all. She loved it. And really?
It was the most fun she'd had in years.
...
"Huh? Souji?"
Yeah, that was Souji sitting over there.
Wait. He was reading?
She slinked closer, trying to get a good look at the words on the page.

"Sekai-san! How are you feeling?" He noticed that she seemed to be walking better at least. If he thought it would help he would have offered to cast Dia on her, for the pain. but in the end magic could only do so much.

Souji obviously had had a similar idea, except he'd brought what looked like The Witch Detective instead. She had to admit she was a little surprised to see him reading it... maybe it was a cover for something more embarrassing? Though what would be more embarrassing for a young man his age to be caught reading (and still appropriate to read in public) than something like that? She had to go find out.
"Oh, hey, Seta-kun!" As she came up to him, she tried to subtly crane her neck over to see what it was, but was too far away.
[If she offers you one, they're not homemade, I promise.]

"Hey, Orihime-san." He smiled sheepishly. "Caught me slacking off, huh?" He laughed a little, hoping she wouldn't hold his reading choice against him before noticing her food. Oh man... he should have brought a snack himself! He stared at the rolls for a long moment before jerking to his senses and smiling at her again.
