It had been easy enough to find out what Shinjirou's position on the new vessel was, but actually cornering him had proved more difficult. It seemed he had gotten even more apt at being where she wasn't. Still, she was in luck this time, it seemed - as she entered one of the kitchen's side doors, she spotted a familiar back, intent on his work on the counter in front of him. And even luckier - he was alone.

"Still hiding from me, Aragaki?" There was a little more venom in her voice than she had intended, but damnit, he could be so frustrating.

The young cook stiffened like he had been shot: and with Mitsuru on the warpath, he'd be lucky if that was all that happened to him. He took a few deep breaths before turning, his general look of disinterest back on his face. Like hell he would let her see him spooked.

"Do I look like I'm hiding?" Which was bullshit. He was an expert at avoiding her, after all...

"Yes," Mitsuru replied bluntly as she stalked over to stand behind him, arms crossed and an angry glare on her face. "I've spent the last three days trying to track you down - I have no doubt this encounter is due to luck and nothing else."

He snorted, rolling his eyes at her. They had never gotten 100% along, though he ironically trusted her more then he did most people. After all, she had his back when he and Aki had been fighting the good fight. She was good at what she did.

He respected her, but he'd never admit it.

"It's a big ship."

It wasn't often that Adachi got to have sky urchin. The rarity of the food caused it to often be too expensive for his wallet.

But there was no taste he preferred more in this continent than the taste of sky urchin. The creamy, custardy texture, the unique taste... words couldn't describe eating sky urchin. His father had a word once to describe it, from an old language his family once knew, but even that couldn't be accurately translated into English. It was just... delicious.

And he hadn't had any in ages. So like hell he wasn't going to snag some while it was here. And maybe... supervise the cook to make sure he didn't keep it all to himself- er. Prepared it properly!

He peaked around the corner into the kitchen, seeing who was there. When he noticed a cook preparing the sky urchin he figured that had to Shinjiro Aragaki himself.

"Yo!" he greeted, stepping into the kitchen. "Things going all right there?"

Shinjiro glanced up, arching a brow at the older man before returning to his work. He had seen Adachi in passing here and there, but they had never even exchanged names, let alone talked. At least before Penelo's run in with wild sky food.

"Obviously." he finally muttered, puttering around the kitchen with practiced ease. "What do you want?"

Neku was hungry.

It wasn't really a very frequent occurrence that happened to him, but the teenager had skipped lunch because there were a few annoying people around he didn't wish to see and had been enough in a bad mood to decide that this was one of the days that locking himself up inside the brig was the best course of action to take. It wouldn't be bad if he had something to eat and drink in there, but the matter of the fact was that he didn't, and so Neku was forced to finally go to the kitchens when his stomach was protesting enough for him to go outside the brig.

Going to the kitchens took a bit longer than usual (mainly because the teenager was somewhat lethargic from the lack of food and thus energy), but eventually he was there, and the orange-head stepped inside to blink at the sight of the cook who was in the kitchen, recognizing him almost immediately. Its that cook who... lives in the kitchen.Well. That didn't concern him anyway. Neku turned his gaze away from the older male, looking around the kitchen in a bid for ( ... )

He glanced up at the sound of the kid coming into his domain. He recognized him by sight if not by name. Grumpy, kept to himself. He could understand that. He was one of the few crewmen he didn't have a problem with. He went back to his work before saying.

"Hungry?"

Neku perked up at the call, turning back to face the cook. He had to admit, this guy (whatever his name was) was one of the few who he could put up with. He liked quiet, and kept to himself too - there were no other necessary words besides what was needed between them. He could deal with that easily enough, and he could respect that as well.

"...yeah," the teenager responded after a few beats, idly adjusting the headphones on him (which were currently playing music, though it wasn't that all loud).

Shinjiro nodded. After all, not very many people came down here to see him, and those that did were almost never welcome distractions. He carefully pushed over a small dish of urchin sashimi he had already finished. The urchin was cut thin, and the sauce on the side was fragrant.

"Put that in your mouth, tell me how it tastes."
