Content: Sam's doing some magic tricks on the new cabin walls. See if you can notice
Setting: Cabin construction site
Time: About a week into construction

Regardless of how he acted, Sam actually wasn't very lazy. It was always better to have something to do if you could live as long as he could. He was up bright and early because it meant there was likely to be fewer people awake. Hex had destroyed the cabins way to easily and it practically begged unwanted attention when his room was the only one that survived. While his room had been destroyed quickly, Sam knew that there was still some people who had noticed. He didn't enjoy lying, but worst case scenario, he claims to be a demi-human.

At first Sam toyed with the idea of warding everything like he had with his room, but that was discarded almost as soon as he thought of it. A ward just wasn't feasible with a place this large due to the sheer amount of magic required to keep it running, the number of people it needed to recognise, not to mention that it required him to draw runes everywhere. He could get away with it in his room, but not the whole ship. Instead he decided to strengthen the structures in a different way, while it wouldn't be as strong as a ward, it would be much stronger than it used to be and he wouldn't have to keep putting energy into it to maintain the spell.

Sam had to wait a while before he could do this. He needed at least the bare bones of the rooms. After checking to see if there was anyone around he placed his hands on one of the newly constructed walls and mentally whispered to it of strength. If anyone managed to sneak up on him (good luck with that) they might notice a faint glow on the wall which quickly fades.
