It wasn't long until another man walked into the flower shop. His gray trenchcoat fit tightly around his broad shoulders, and while he glanced furtively around the store, his right hand adjusted the fedora hat that covered his dark hair; his left arm, meanwhile, hung uselessly at his side, with coat sleeve pinned up to the elbow, the point of its amputation.

After the coast was clear, he strode quickly and purposefully towards the clerk and whispered the password that had been passed along to him. Without further ado, he was ushered in towards the back to speak with the Grand Lotus himself.

Standing as the door entered, Iroh bowed deeply when he saw that his guest had arrived. These were odd circumstances indeed. Ordinarily, a non-member would never get close to the Grand Lotus without first having to go thrpough many trials and tribulations. But Iroh had never been big about standing on ceremony, and, from what he had already learned, this man had suffered enough.

He did not need to look at the pinned sleeve to know that he had been told the truth. The man's face was partially hidden by shadow and his hat. He could have raised the lighting level of the room by making a fire, but he did not think it necessary. He smiled in a friendly greeting. "Welcome. The lotus opens wide to those that need a friend."

This man was no stranger to etiquette. He removed his hat as soon as he had entered and quickly returned the Lotus' deep bow. Once they had risen, however, his jaw dropped in shock. His voice was all too familiar, and despite the faint light, he recognized that old, familiar face in an instant.

Edgeworth's breath caught in his throat and his heart pounded against his chest. Still numb with shock, he choked out, "Wha-what are you doing here?"
