Then Bradley appeared out of nowhere like Slenderman.

...not quite, but that was a pretty accurate description of what happened. He wasn't exactly in top condition; the last fight had taken more of a toll on him than he would have liked.

Still, when he spotted someone coming his way as he rounded a corner, it was unlikely that he would have any trouble with... ah. A familiar face. That was interesting.

Watanuki was still weak from his earlier ordeal with the god Loki. Not enough time had passed to replenish the blood he had lost at the god's hands, or for him to get over the fear of the ordeal; he was following Ichigo at a far slower pace than they should have been able to manage, and even the knowledge of the lives at stake could not make his feet move faster.

When Bradley appeared, for a long moment Watanuki thought he must be hallucinating. The face was almost familiar - he recognized the captain of the Amestris, but the man was different. Changed. And even with the ring retrieved and safely back on his finger, Bradley positively reeked with waves of dark, malicious power.

He hesitated - the man seemed real, but no, there was no reason for that, that was illogical... Watanuki looked to Ichigo, trying to quell rising panic, hoping that the redhead would look and see nothing, that this was just an illusion.

Shit. You have got to be kidding me.

Of course. Of course they would run into Bradley. Ichigo would have cursed his luck if he felt he could have spared the focus. Instead, his hand went to the sword slung over his shoulder as, almost unconsciously, Ichigo stepped in front of Watanuki, needing to be between him and Bradley.

"I heard you attacked the captain," Ichigo called out, not drawing his weapon yet. He'd been suspicious of Bradley ever since Antrim, suspicious enough to leave, but attacking Optimus Prime?

Ichigo had owed him, dammit. Owed him for taking in someone who the Ivonian military R&D would kill to get their hands on. And if Bradley was here because of him...

If he had put the crew in danger...
