Year two

Booze does all the work in forts. Dwarves are just booze exoskeletons.

We are hard at work building storage areas and moving things inside when the season's immigrants arrive. Say hello to:

Rangiku Matsumoto
Oerba Yun Fang
Dimo
Ichigo Kurosaki
Sajin Komamura
Ulquiorra Schiffer
Ness Lakehaven
Penelo Galbana
Neji Hyuuga
Red Lakehaven
Bangladesh DuPree (and her pet lamb)
Shi Ryuuki (and his pet kitten)
Roxas Orior
Susan Sto Helit
Setzer Gabbiani
Gaara (and his pet kitten)
Nack Hayes and Erza Scarlet (married) and their son Braska Abreu
Zeetha
Sara Cruz
Rock Lee
Angel Starr
Nena Trinity
Sam Linnfer

And some stray animals.

Jesus. Christ. Guess the caravan was really impressed with us.

And right after that, the elves arrive. Is it really late spring already? And then the badgers come back, Bloodwrath and all. Great. Anyway, we buy out most of their useful wooden products, like buckets and barrels, their food, their sissy Elven alcohol, and as much cloth as we can afford to give. Also, an elk because why not.

Summer comes, and annoyed as all heck, I order Kaoru to start killing whatever badgers she can reach. I watch her chase them around for a while, but most of them get away.

While I was pondering the best place to build an outdoor statue garden, even more immigrants arrive! The fort is growing much faster than I expected!

Szayel Apollo Granz
Paula Polestar
Joshua Kiryu
Angelina Duress and Dean Winchester (married)
Hwang Bu-ling

Traumatized by the fact that his father is the leader of the fort and Isshin's constant nagging to get married, Ichigo locks himself in the craftsdwarf's shop, taking three logs of wood with him. I believe that he is attempting some sort of elaborate suicide plot.

That, or he's possessed.

Oh.

Masterful. Beautiful. Absolutely useless. And I don't think it should have used up three logs of wood.

The humans arrive, bearing many goods made from metal. Time to start hauling! We restock on supplies, plus get weapons and armor and a few good animals.

Here you can see the outdoor sculpture guarden I was talking about earlier. This area is impossible to get to unless you use the stairs I built in the fort, (or fly) as I removed all other possible entrances. This means the dwarves can enjoy statues in relative safety. Building a sculpture garden underground is much safer, but I choose to have mine outdoors because it gives dwarves a reason to go outside. Dwarves that stay underground for too long develop something called Cave Adaption, and if they go outside after developing it, they get sick and start vomiting everywhere. I do not want vomit all over my lovely fort.

The autumn migrants have arrived. I think I should start building bedrooms now!

Oichi
Kimihiro Watanuki
Miles Edgeworth
Deanna Troi
Yoruichi Shihouin
Leo de Alkirk
Blue Charteau

The caravan from the mountain home has arrived! The dwarven caravan probably brings the most useful things of all caravans, (other civilizations often bring things that are of no use to us. Elves bring wooden weapons and armor that suck royally, and humans bring clothes and armor that's too big for dwarves to use) so it's the one I look most forward to.

Well, winter has arrived, and we still haven't traded with the dwarven caravan. There is a reason for this, and it's really stupid. A while ago, I ordered a wall be built near the farms to help control irrigation. Well, it turned out that Gold (our broker) took on that job and decided to be a dumbass and seal himself in the irrigation channel alongside it and I didn't notice for a while. Good job, Gold.

That's him, the purple smiley face right there. In fact, Gold is such a genius he managed to do this five times. Eventually, I just gave up and dug another exit tunnel.

Well! It's our first birth in the fort! A baby boy! Why, this is a cause of celebra- wait.

...WHO'S THE FATHER?

WHY!?

...the baby's name is Luppi Antenor oh god save me.

Here, I've dug out a barracks for Kaoru's squad and an armory to store all our weapons.

And here is the old storage room I dug out way back in the beginning. It's been repurposed into a zoo and now holds a badger boar and a badger sow for all to look at.

Oh my, what's this? Leo's become possessed! He runs over to the metalforge and takes it over. I hope he doesn't use the iron bars. We need that to make weapons and armor and stuff.

DAMMIT I SAID DON'T TAKE THE IRON BARS! YOU BETTER MAKE SOMETHING GOOD.

[SCREENSHOT MISSING, I OVERSAVED IT. ANYWAY, THE THING LEO MADE WAS AN IRON SARCOPHAGUS]

...it'll make a nice coffin for a noble or something. Anyway, I'm going to try to dig out an above ground farm. Note: I forgot to take a screenshot of the artifact description. I'll do that next time.

...I didn't plan my digging very well. Fortunately, no one was really hurt, just knocked senseless for a bit.

Another prosperous year has passed, and Lovepaddled continues to grow despite setbacks. The fort is now fairly sufficient, and it's expanding very quickly. Let's hope for another good year!
