1989 - Brad and Rogers move to Los Angeles.
1990 - Shannon boards a bus and leaves for Los Angeles.
March 1991 - Blind Melon sign a $500,000 recording contract with Capitol Records. Blind Melon moves from Los Angeles to Chapel Hill, NC, to work on new material.
Fall 1991 - Shannon appears in the Guns n' Roses video for "Don't Cry."
February 1992 - Recording of their self titled album began.
April 1992 - "No Rain" gets put into rotation on MTV's 120 Minutes. "Dear Ol' Dad" is also put into rotation on 120 Minutes.
September 14, 1992 - Blind Melon is released.
October 8, 1992 - The album goes to #3 on the charts, where it stays for 26 weeks.
June 1993 - "No Rain" single is released. The record goes double platinum.
October 31, 1993 - Hoon is arrested for indecent exposure at a concert in Vancouver, BC.

January 8, 1994 - They perform their one (and only) show on Saturday Night Live.
February 1994 - Shannon is charged for attacking a security guard during the taping of the American Music Awards.
March 1994 - The band is nominated for a Grammy Award.
August 13, 1994 - The band performs at Woodstock `94.
February 11, 1995 - Car Seat (God's Presents) is recorded, 111 years after it was written by Shannon's great grandmother.
July 11, 1995 - Nico Blue Hoon is born to Shannon Hoon and Lisa Crouse.
August 15, 1995 - Soup is released. "Galaxie" hits No. 8 on Billboard's modern rock tracks chart.
October 21, 1995 - Shannon Hoon dies on a tour bus as a result of an overdose.
November 12, 1996 - Nico and Letters From a Porcupine are released.
March 1997 - Letters From a Porcupine is nominated for a Grammy but was beaten out by Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill Tour video.
Early 1999 - Luma and Extra Virgin come to life. Brad and Christopher, along with Dave Krusen (ex-Pearl Jam and Candlebox) on drums, seek out Chris Shinn from North Carolina's Celia Green to form Unified Theory (AKA Luma/Mercy). Rogers' joins up with Pat Sansone (bass and vocals), Bill Dobrow (drums), and Rene Lopez (guitars) to form Extra Virgin.
August 15, 2000 - Brad and Christopher's band releases Unified Theory, exactly five years after Soup.
May 8, 2001 - Abandon Jalopy (Brad's side project) release Mercy. Rogers and Glen play on the songs "On the Blink" and "Stomin' the Fuse".
September 9, 2001 - VH1 airs their "Behind the Music" documentary on Blind Melon.
September 11, 2001 - The Collectors Edition of "Letters From a Porcupine" on DVD is released. It includes all of their videos, plus the live footage from the VHS version of LFAP. The release of the DVD coincided with the WTC attacks.
December 7, 2001 - Unified Theory split up, with Brad and Christopher going to Abandon Jalopy.
January 29, 2002 - Classic Masters is released.
