the videos drain the batteries in like half an hour according to my friend.. who has a video ipod and works at best buy.

Just thought you should know.

supposedly the newer video model has much improved battery life for video

I get about 3hrs of video-time on mine. And it's a "1st gen" video iPod.

I've passed through the stage of mourning and am now in acceptance. The fact that there's a brand new replacement iPod (still 60GB photo, but nothing to scoff at) syncing up with my laptop in my cubicle as we speak might have something to do with that.

ipods are designed to break, i've had my zen for like 3 years

and windows is designed to anger. the ipod is still the most mac compatible mp3 player. i'll take my bumps with the ipods until the day windows does not suck.

YES!! Power to the Zen's. I had a Zen Xtra for over three years and just replaced it with the Zen Sleek Photo.. The Xtra still works fine but the battery just doesnt last long enough anymore.
