breaking up due to momentary awkwardness is preserving the sanctity of marriage, you see. otherwise couples would have this conversation

HE: Hi, honey. how was your day?
SHE: it was good. uneventful
HE: well all right then. say, i smell coffee. is there any left?
SHE: I'M COMPLETELY FAITHFUL TO YOU!
HE: what?
SHE: I WAS HERE ALL DAY! ALONE! NO ONE CAME BY! DON'T LOOK IN THE CLOSET!
HE: um... ok. well, i'll just go take a shower
SHE: DON'T GO IN THERE EITHER! THERE'S NO ONE IN THERE! I LOVE YOU

so you see, breaking up over a momentary silence is actually good for the nation
